The Associate Director, Law and Graduate Business Annual Giving will lead the fundraising efforts for the Notre Dame Law School and the Mendoza College of Business Graduate programs. This role will be instrumental in shaping the strategy and executing targeted plans to achieve the schools' unrestricted giving goals. The focus will be on leading the giving societies-the Order of St. Thomas More for the Law School and the O'Hara Society for the Graduate Business programs-particularly driving engagement and growth within the prestigious Dean's Circle ($25,000 ) levels of each.
The ideal candidate will be a marketing and sales-driven professional with a keen understanding of how to leverage data and technology to build and nurture relationships. They will possess the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, drive creative fundraising strategies, and develop partnerships that advance key priorities. Comfortable engaging with Deans and senior leadership, the candidate will use their marketing expertise to craft compelling campaigns that inspire donors and elevate their experience.
Success in this role will require innovative thinking in marketing and sales, paired with strong organizational skills and an understanding of how to leverage data and technology to drive results. The candidate will be skilled at capturing the impact of giving through powerful storytelling, translating that impact into campaigns that engage and inspire donors. They must thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment and be motivated to drive membership growth, donor retention, and revenue generation through targeted outreach and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and optimize the experience for members of the Order of St. Thomas More and the O'Hara Society, focusing on membership retention, upgrades, and new member recruitment.
  • Strategize and implement seven annual campaigns for member renewals, focusing on data-driven outreach and targeted messaging to maximize engagement.
  • Develop impactful print and digital marketing materials (impact reports, promotional pieces, and member communications) to engage current and prospective donors.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify growth opportunities, particularly in upgrading donors within the Graduate Business Fund and Law School Annual Fund.
  • Lead annual recruitment efforts, cultivating new benefactors through customized strategies and targeted communications.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Academic Advancement Directors, Alumni Directors) to ensure alignment with broader engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with the Associate Director, Annual Giving Events and Stewardship to craft compelling stewardship plans for the Dean's Circle.
  • Prepare presentations and reports to effectively communicate updates and results to senior leadership and the Deans.
  • Collect, curate, and share impactful donor stories, amplifying the mission and success of the Law and Graduate Business programs through digital platforms and events.

Work Environment:
This role offers a hybrid work model with a base location in South Bend, IN. It requires flexibility, including additional hours during key events such as Notre Dame football games, Notre Dame Day, and other major fundraising initiatives. Travel 2-3 times annually is expected for donor cultivation and outreach.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree
  • 3-4 years of professional experience
  • Experience in sales, marketing, and/or fundraising
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated success at building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Proficiency in Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drive, and Word
  • Alignment with the mission and values of the University
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree
  • 3-4 years of experience in sales, marketing, and/or fundraising
  • Proven track record of cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors
  • Demonstrated success in tracking and analyzing metrics and results
  • Experience managing revenue-based goals
