Specific Responsibilities Include The Following
- Social Media Management: Serve as the primary manager for the College’s social media accounts, creating and curating engaging content that reflects the breadth of activities and achievements across the College. Develop and execute social media campaigns to increase visibility, grow followers, and drive engagement. Collaborate with team members to create multimedia content (e.g., videos, graphics, and photos) tailored for social platforms. Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics, using data insights to refine strategies and improve results. Ensure social media strategies align with institutional goals and evolving platform best practices.
- Website Content Updates: Ensure the College’s websites remain accurate, engaging, and up to date by managing and refreshing content, including program descriptions, event listings, and profiles. Research and write stories and profiles of students, alumni, and faculty to highlight their achievements and contributions. Work collaboratively with team members to align website updates with broader communication goals. Regularly review the websites to maintain consistency and alignment with the College’s messaging and priorities.
- Email Communications: Write and edit content for newsletters, event promotions, and other email campaigns that resonate with target audiences. Collaborate with the graphic designer to ensure email communications are visually appealing and align with the College’s branding. Monitor and analyze email campaign performance, refining strategies to improve open rates, click-through rates, and engagement.
- Project Support: Provide flexible support for various projects, including event coordination, promotional materials, and editing written content as needed. Adapt to evolving communication priorities and explore new opportunities to enhance the College’s digital presence.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in communications, social media management, digital marketing, or content creation.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create engaging social media, email, and web content. Proficient in social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and Instagram, with the ability to create, schedule, and analyze content tailored to each platform.
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp or Emma) for crafting newsletters, event promotions, and email campaigns.
- Familiarity with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress) for updating and maintaining site content.
- Analytical mindset, capable of interpreting social media, email, and web analytics to refine strategies and optimize content.
- Collaborative and adaptable, with strong interpersonal skills to work with internal teams and University-level partners.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Experience managing social media accounts for organizations, including creating content tailored to specific platforms and audiences.
- Experience in higher education or similar environments, with knowledge of institutional branding and communications standards.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn best practices in accessibility for digital communications.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) for minor content editing and design tasks.
