Duties :
Supports research activities of the Mendoza College of Business faculty.
Primary Responsibilities :
Providing statistical and mathematical consulting and analysis for a broad cross-section of projects.
Performing research related programming tasks, and providing on-going R&D.
Responsible for maintaining and updating all research databases.
Supports Mendoza faculty in high-performance computing solutions (e.g., Center for Research Computing).
Facilitates research data acquisition and delivery within the College.
Additional Responsibilities :
Working with individuals and groups within the Mendoza College of Business, including the business branch of the University Library, and groups around campus, including the Center for Research Computing and Office of Information Technologies.
Assisting in managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, procuring solutions, and monitoring expenses to stay within budget constraints.
Facilitating knowledge transfer through targeted user education and workshops.
Creating and updating Mendoza IT Research Group web pages to facilitate knowledge sharing.
Gathering and creating training manuals, user manuals, operations manuals, and other research-related documentation.
Minimum Qualifications :
Master’s in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
Requires 24 months of prior employment experience in a data-related field or including the following areas : Data Engineering, Computer Programming, Data Science.
Requires 24 months of prior employment experience must also include the following :
Expertise in R or Python, with 1 year of practical experience in data processing and data engineering.
Expertise in SQL and database management, with 2 years of practical experience in writing secure SQL queries and managing database systems, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, node.js.
Expertise in Git protocol, with 1 year of practical experience in programming in a team environment to create reproducible code.
Experience in higher education research in a STEM discipline, with at least 1 year of practical experience in collaborating with research faculty.
Experience contributing to research publications and reproducibility, with at least 1 year of practical experience working towards a publishable document.
Publication in a STEM discipline, at least one publication in an A journal.
