What You'll Do:
- Conduct the Irrigation Orchestra: You'll be the maestro of our DXI/Sentinel irrigation system, ensuring every drop of water is delivered precisely where it's needed, when it's needed. From programming complex schedules to fine-tuning run times, you'll have complete control over the hydration of our diverse plant life.
- Be the Irrigation Guru: As our resident expert, you'll be the go-to person for all things irrigation. You'll provide technical guidance, troubleshoot tricky problems, and offer innovative solutions for new installations and upgrades.
- Shape the Landscape's Future: Your insights will be invaluable in shaping the future of Notre Dame's irrigation systems. You'll play a key role in recommending projects that enhance efficiency, conserve water, and maintain the stunning beauty of our campus.
- Nurture Nature's Masterpiece: You'll work hand-in-hand with our Landscape Services team to ensure every plant, from the smallest flower to the grandest oak, receives the perfect amount of hydration. Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and landscape-related equipment safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of horticulture practices, including turf management, pest control, and irrigation systems.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid drivers license and the ability to obtain necessary certifications for pesticide application and equipment operation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in irrigation systems
- 3 to 4 years experience
