Job Description
Notre Dame Cares is a collaborative Student Health and Wellness initiative aiming to enhance mental health awareness, improve suicide prevention strategies, and promote mental well-being within the community. The Notre Dame Cares Summer Research Assistant will contribute to meaningful research while gaining experience in public health, mental health advocacy, and data analysis.
The Notre Dame Cares Summer Research Assistant is a 25-35 hour summer position with an anticipated employment of May 19, 2025 – August 15, 2025. Candidates must be enrolled in a degree seeking undergraduate or graduate program or have recently received their degree.

Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting data on mental health awareness and suicide prevention strategies.
- Support data analysis and visualization related to project outcomes.
- Conduct literature reviews and summarize key findings on suicide prevention and mental health interventions.
- Help develop educational materials and resources to support awareness campaigns.
- Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and mental health professionals to support project goals and grant report writing.
- Assist in organizing events, workshops, and community outreach efforts.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for research activities.
- Interest in mental health, suicide prevention, public health, or related fields.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Experience with research methods, data collection, and analysis.
- Familiarity with mental health resources and awareness campaigns is a plus.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey research findings to diverse audiences.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies while contributing to interdisciplinary research.
- Currently enrolled undergraduate, graduate student, or recent college graduate.
- Degree or coursework in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Public Health, Data Management or related field.
