The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) in Oklahoma City seeks Pediatric Oncology investigators at all ranks (Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor) for appointments in the College of Medicine, Stephenson Cancer Center (SCC), and Jimmy Everest Center (JEC) for Cancer and Blood Disorders in Children. Appointments have potential to be endowed research chairs sponsored by Children’s Medical Research, Inc., with further support from Children’s Health Foundation, SCC, Pediatrics, and other sources. Physicians providing clinical care will also hold OU Health faculty appointments.
OUHSC is a multi-disciplinary research institution that includes the Graduate College and Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health, Allied Health, Dentistry, and Nursing. Applicants with research that focuses on pediatric oncology at basic, translational, clinical, or behavioral levels are all of interest. The SCC is Oklahoma’s only NCI-designated cancer center and Oklahoma’s top cancer facility in the 2023-24 U.S. News & World Report. Likewise, Oklahoma Children’s was the top Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma. OUHSC holds several NIH-funded Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (CoBRE) grants and P01, T32, and other multi-PI collaborative projects. Ideal candidates will complement existing research strengths, with leadership opportunities in these endeavors. Modern lab space and cutting-edge core facilities are also OUHSC resources. Qualifications & Eligibility
Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degrees in any biomedical science area(s) Strong cancer-relevant publication record in basic, translational, epidemiological, clinical and/or public health research emphasizing pediatric oncology Track record of extramural funding from NCI, DoD, ACS, or related entities Independent research program competitive to secure extramural funding Expertise in cancer signaling, cancer metabolism, epigenomics, bioinformatics, tumor immunology, and/or cancer behavioral research are particularly desirable
