Job Responsibilities: Design, implementation, and management of a 2-credit course: CSD 2084 - SCIENCE OF IMPLANTABLES.
This course will focus on the underlying physiology and psychoacoustics that contribute to the development and implementation of electrical and bone-conducted stimulation as an input to the hearing system. A historical perspective will inform current research and clinical application in this area. Students will leave this course able to compare and contrast current signal processing strategies used in implantable devices. In addition, students will be able to critically evaluate future signal-processing strategies in a patient-centered manner based on the underlying knowledge provided through this course.
The syllabus will be consistent with SHRS and CSD standards. Course content, assessment, and instructional mode will be consistent with the curriculum and accreditation requirements, and the Program Director will guide them to ensure the appropriateness of the content.
Applicant Requirements: Individuals applying for this position will have a master's degree and/or Ph.D. in communication science, speech-language pathology, or a related field. Teaching experience is preferred.
