What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Scientist - Bean Lab position at University of Pittsburgh?
Conducts independent scientific research projects from inception to presentation. Prepares and crafts various documentations of research results into manuscripts, proposals, grant applications, and presentations. Trains undergraduates and research technicians. Manages laboratory policies and coordinates project development in collaboration with other specialists.

Essential Functions
Duties or Responsibilities:
Lead projects focused on utilizing extracellular vesicles for tendon and/or skeletal muscle repair using in vitro and in vivo rodent models.
Assist with preparation of grant proposals.
Mentor and supervise undergraduate student research projects.
Qualifications Or Expectations
PhD in biology, bioengineering, or related field of study. MDs with extensive prior research experience may also be considered.
Prior evidence of research productivity.
Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and interest in pursuing an independent career in translational musculoskeletal research.
Self-driven with excellent time management skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams with diverse backgrounds.
Physical Effort
May be required to stand/move for several hours at a time. May be required to move objects up to 50lbs with or without assistance of equipment.
