POSITION SUMMARY
The University of Providence is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Staff Accountant. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review operating statements and prepare journal entries to facilitate timely and accurate financial statements.
- Complete the monthly general ledger closing process by preparing accounting journal entries, analyzing accounts and accruals, and posting journal entries into the system.
- Prepare and present monthly quantitative and qualitative analyses by deadlines, emphasizing variances from the budget, recent prior months, and year-to-date figures.
- Reconcile assigned accounts monthly, including researching and preparing any correcting entries for approval and posting.
- Prepare cash projections and perform other treasury functions.
- Assist budget managers with questions related to their monthly financial management reports and other inquiries.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance departmental effectiveness and collaboration.
- Maintain professional growth and development through continuing education, participation in trainings, professional associations, and other activities to stay current with technology and organizational practices.
- Participate in unit / department performance improvement activities to develop and implement processes that support quality service and effective work performance.
- Attend all mandatory staff meetings and training programs to ensure continued understanding of departmental policies, procedures, and performance improvement programs.
- Maintain accounting records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, University of Providence procedures, and financial policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and other regulatory agencies.
- Maintain confidentiality of records, including those of students, employees, and faculty.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
