The University of Rhode Island invites applications for a full-time, tenure track appointment for an Assistant Professor in Computational Chemistry beginning in the fall of 2025.
Basic Function
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate chemistry courses; advise undergraduate and graduate students toward B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees; conduct independent and collaborative research with both undergraduate and graduate students; secure external funding to support independent research activities; author peer-reviewed publications with undergraduate and graduate student co-authors; and be active in service at the levels of the Department, College, and University.

Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in chemistry or closely related field.
- Postdoctoral and/or equivalent industrial experience.
- Demonstrated record of scholarly achievement as evidenced by publications, presentations and/or awards.
- Demonstrated potential for developing and sustaining an independent, externally funded research program in chemistry involving undergraduate and graduate students leading to peer-reviewed publications.
- Demonstrated ability to become an effective teacher of chemistry at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
