Basic Function
The Executive Director of Undergraduate Admission provides strategic leadership and vision for the university’s undergraduate recruitment, outreach, and admissions efforts. As a key member of the enrollment management team, the Executive Director is responsible for developing and implementing innovative, data-driven strategies to attract, recruit, and enroll a diverse and talented student body. This individual will lead a team of admission professionals, foster partnerships across campus, manage office budget, and ensure alignment with the university’s mission and enrollment goals.

Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Develop and implement comprehensive undergraduate admissions strategies to meet enrollment goals.
- Use data analytics, market research, and demographic trends to drive high-impact decision-making and optimize outreach efforts.
- Set standards for application review and decision-making, ensuring consistency and fairness.
- Oversee the admissions budget and resource allocation.
- Monitor and analyze admissions data to identify trends and inform future strategies.
- Assess and select current and emerging technology and collaborate with key vendors to recruit and yield students.
- Lead the recruitment team in identifying and engaging potential undergraduate applicants through various channels and mediums.
- Collaborate with University community, including academic colleges and departments, Student Life, Communications and Marketing, Office of International Education and others to recruit and enroll undergraduate students.
- Collaborate in the development of marketing materials and messaging tailored to different student demographics.
- Oversee the holistic and equitable evaluation of applications, ensuring a fair, transparent, and student-centered admissions process.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and university policies and ethical standards in admissions.
- Manage the implementation and optimization of admissions technology, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (e.g., Slate).
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of recruitment and admission efforts.
- Foster enrollment success by recruiting traditional and nontraditional students, including special populations, for traditional and online undergraduate program offerings.
- Develop and implement programs to enhance student engagement throughout the admissions process.
- Collaborate with other campus offices, including Enrollment Services, to support enrollment, access and affordability.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing admissions team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Manage the admissions budget effectively, ensuring resource allocation aligns with strategic priorities.
- Participate as admissions representative on campus, state committees and in regional and national organizations in regard to admissions and recruitment matters.
- Serve as a member of the Enrollment Management Team.
- Prepare statistical admission and enrollment reports.
- Utilize CRM (currently SLATE) to manage applicant data through the admission process.
- Work with team to assess areas of strength and areas of improvement for future admission cycles.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree.
- Minimum of seven years of progressive leadership experience in undergraduate recruitment and admissions.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, data-informed decision-making, and emerging enrollment trends.
- Demonstrated track record of growing a diverse applicant pool and student body regionally, nationally and globally.
- Demonstrated strong leadership, team-building, and staff development skills.
- Demonstrated record of developing and implementing effective, high-impact recruiting techniques and marketing plans.
- Demonstrated experience with admissions technologies, CRMs (e.g., Slate), and data analytics tools.
- Demonstrated managerial experience including budgeting, organizing, coordinating and supervising staff.
- Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
- Demonstrated relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with Slate.
- Demonstrated experience working at a public flagship or large research university.
