Basic Function
Under general supervision, support the clinical research mission of the Alzheimer’s biomarker laboratory by conducting specific research protocols, including data management, and assisting with experiments including data collection, preparation, and cleanup. Research involves interaction with human subjects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Provide support for data collection and analysis for specific research protocols as assigned by Principal Investigator.
Assist in data management and analysis of data for assigned projects in Alzheimer’s Biomarker Lab for several multi-site observational studies of retinal biomarkers in Alzheimer’s disease.
Assist in preparation of project protocols and intervention and assessment materials.
Maintain documentation of data collection and assist with data management and data entry into a computer database. Collect research data by accurately completing all visit forms and documenting activities as directed. Maintain accurate and up to date study records ensuring and respecting confidentiality.
Schedule research appointments and maintain research project calendars.
Maintain and complete all paperwork, forms, and logs associated with study protocols. Draft meeting minutes. Assist in maintaining office procedures.
Maintain project and clinic policies regarding confidentiality.
Attend regularly scheduled supervision, team meetings, conference calls and program meetings as required by PI.
Work collaboratively with staff in the Alzheimer’s Biomarker Lab and Butler Hospital’s Memory and Aging Program.
Maintain quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control in accordance with established hospital, University and department policies, procedures, and objectives.
Other Duties And Responsibilities
Perform other duties as required.
Licenses, Tools, And Equipment
Personal computers, printers; word processing, database and spreadsheet software; RedCap database management. Must provide own transportation.

- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of one year experience in clinical research.
- Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to protect confidential health information.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
- Must provide own transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work with older adults in a research and/or clinical setting.
- Demonstrated experience with Alzheimer’s disease clinical research.
