$63,815.00 - $95,723.00The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL SUMMARY:Assists in performing value-added financial, operational, and compliance audits of departments and processes. Conducts audits of internal controls to ensure that the institution's assets are protected and to determine if functional areas are conducting operations in compliance with established guidelines, policies, procedures, and governmental, grant/contract, and legal requirements. Prepares reports presenting audit results and recommends corrective actions clearly and concisely.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conducts audit testing and evaluates internal controls to ensure that business practices are effective, efficient, and compliant with University and regulatory policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Assists leadership and auditors in planning various University-wide, divisional, and operating-unit risk assessments and audit projects.
- Performs risk assessments to identify areas of most significant audit criticality and evaluate risk management strategies' adequacy.
- Prepares audit reports that clearly and concisely communicate findings, risks, root causes, and recommendations.
- Develops creative and practical risk mitigation recommendations to enhance internal controls and manage risks effectively.
- Creates and maintains clear, well-organized, and reviewable work paper documentation using an electronic work paper application.
- Assists in making oral or written presentations to management.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration and 2 years of experience in internal and/or external auditing required
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Understanding of internal controls, business processes, auditing procedures, and risk assessments preferred
- Proficient in PC functionality and Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint preferred
- Excellent audit work paper and documentation skills preferred
- Demonstrated problem solving skills preferred
LICENCES
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) upon hire preferred
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) upon hire preferred
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) upon hire preferred
