Supports the development and delivery of new solutions to complex problems which may be recurring in nature or to which precedent may not exist. Prepares reports and presentations for use by both departmental and senior URMedicine leadership for use in decision making.

  • Collaborates with ORACs, Financial Reporting, the University Architect’s office, and University IT to execute annual University-wide space surveys as well as the more rigorous “base year” surveys used for government F&A cost rate proposals.  Acts as subject matter expert, providing guidance to administrators from across URMedicine to ensure timely and accurate data collection.
  • Performs both routine and special project data analyses using data from the University’s space management platform, departmental databases, physical survey data, and interviews.  Employs various data analysis strategies to “slice and dice” data to explore space utilization from different perspectives, to discover patterns, and to draw conclusions.

Department Operations (15%)

  • Independently manages and coordinates key department databases to track space requests, space availability, competing needs, and rental space.  Manages Space Planning email inbox and triages inquiries and requests, making decisions in real time based on current priorities.  Acts as subject matter expert during annual space survey periods, investigating and troubleshooting nuanced customer inquiries about their space data and issuing timely responses.  Reviews initial space request forms from departments and ensures that requests are complete and follow guidelines.
  • Recommends updates to departmental standard operating procedures and collaborates with Manager and Associate Director to develop and maintain standard checklists and documented processes.

Other duties as assigned.
