Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE:Assists in maintaining patient and staff safety by monitoring patient and assisting delegated nursing care. Incorporates therapeutic and diversionary interventions to maintain patient safety, refocus the patient, and promote healthy behaviors as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Incorporates therapeutic and diversionary interventions to maintain patient safety, refocus the patient, and promote healthy behaviors.
- Assists patients with ambulation, hygiene, nutrition, linen changes, and other activities of daily living.
- Identifies potential risks and early signs of escalating patient behaviors, such as agitation, confusion, and anxiety.
- Keeps patient and staff safety at the forefront, engaging the patient in reduction techniques to maintain safety.
- Incorporates problem solving and critical thinking skills to help implement behavioral interventions.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma required
- 1 year of experience related to patient care or psychiatric training preferred or
- less than 1 year (six months) of nursing education preferred Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Ability to work independently required
- Innovative with patient care required
- Flexible in thinking and approach required
