$55,955.00 - $78,336.00The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE:Serves as a qualified operator who maintains unique and complex mechanical systems, following established procedures and protocols, in support of OMEGA shot operations. Diagnoses and remediates emergent technical problems related to high vacuum vessels, cryogenic cooling equipment and radioactive sources. Performs research lab functions including cleaning, supply stock, documentation, and procedure writing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serves as a qualified operator, maintaining unique and complex mechanical systems, following established procedures and protocols, in support of one or more teams of the Laser Lab for Energetics.
- Diagnoses and remediates emergent technical problems related to high vacuum vessels, cryogenic cooling equipment and radioactive sources.
- Performs research lab functions, including cleaning, supply stock, documentation, and procedure writing.
- Interacts with vendors regarding specifications for new purchases, as well as technical guidance required for maintenance issues.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience required Or equivalent combination of education and experience
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- NYS Radiation Safety Certification upon hire required
