$17.00 - $19.50The referenced pay range represents the first and last step pay rates for this job, as set forth in the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Individual pay will be set in accordance with terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Responsibilities:
To act as a University representative in disseminating information concerning parking and traffic to the University's community and visitors. Provide services and conduct transactions that insure the effective and efficient implementation of University policies related to parking, traffic and circulation.SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION RECEIVEDUnder general direction of the Operations Manager or other designated authority.MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED
- Calculator, and other related office machines. Fee computers, jumper cables, wheel locks, go jacs, University owned vehicles, valet parked vehicles (manual and automatic transmissions), two-way radio, simple hand tools (i.e., wrench).
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Community Relations, Assistance and Information:
- Provides information concerning parking and traffic to the University and the public. Acts as University host to visitors. Utilizes a variety of resources to provide parking, traffic, directional and general information pertaining to the University to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. Moves vehicles in valet parking program. Jump starts vehicles.
Monitors the University's Parking Program:
- Operates information and parking booth facilities. Issues warning notices and tickets to vehicles in violation of regulations.
- Conducts lot usage surveys and investigates parking complaints.
- Observes and reports lot, traffic and roadway maintenance and other needs.
- Performs dispatch duties as required.
- Provides traffic control assistance and other related support during special events and emergencies.
- Serves as example to campus community regarding safe usage of motor vehicles and bicycles.
Cash Handling:
- Handles payments for daily pay lots, permits, passes and violations. Performs register closing procedures.
- Prepares, distributes and reconciles funds.
Permit and Violation Processing:
- Using mainframe workstation; processes and issues permits, verifies application information, processes violations, registers motor vehicles and bicycles, handles confidential information (e.g., various state motor vehicle department files, bursar, personnel).
Other Duties as Assigned:
- Including but not limited to providing emergency rides and taxi/courier on request, filing, stocking supplies, answering telephones, assisting with Parking Services functions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral skills) with knowledge of data entry, and ability to work with mainframe and computer applications and programs preferred.
- Must possess a valid New York State Driver's License with University approval required of "suitable" past driving record.
