Overview
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Team Members to join our culinary team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and delivering high-quality meals to our students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, a commitment to food safety, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This position has the ability to transition into a permanent position with the University, and will be integral to maintaining the functionality of the dining departments across campus!
Duties
- Assist in meal preparation and cooking according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food storage and sanitation practices.
- Support the culinary team in food handling, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Help in the plating and presentation of dishes to meet fine dining standards.
- Participate in inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies.
- Follow all dietary department guidelines to accommodate special dietary needs.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a culinary or food service role for at least 1 consecutive year.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques in meal preparation.
- Flexibility to work in a variety of dining environments whether it be casual dining halls or a restaurant style.
- Please Note: A High School Diploma or GED is required for this position to transition to a permanent role at the University.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
