GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Lead PSR oversees and directs the PSR staff in their assigned duties. Directs and manages PSR workloads, provides guidance & assists with the day to day workflow as needed. Hires, trains and supervises all PSR staff under direct organizational structure. Serves as a SME in department specific scheduling activities.
SCHEDULE
SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION RECEIVED:
Reports directly to/receives direction from Practice Manger II.
Machines And Equipment Used
Standard office equipment including computer, calculator, telephone, facsimile. Will use software for electronic medical record system, appointment scheduling system, and Operating Room scheduling system and other systems as needed.

Typical Duties
- Oversight and general supervision of PSR staff direct reports. HR issues will be co-managed with PM.
- Work as a team to assure consistency across MSK/Spine PSS staff
- Training of new staff
- Day to day operations for team. Assures all work is completed in a timely manner, providing superior customer service.
- Assist with barriers to scheduling as needed.
- Assure phones are answered during business hours & messages returned with in one business day.
- Serves as primary resource/subject matter expert for complex questions or issues related to work duties.
- Assist with coverage if needed during unexpected absences.
- Bi-weekly 1:1 with PSR staff
- Recruits/interviews for vacancies
- Performance management/reviews
- Assess competency of new staff at milestones.
- Reviews productivity reports with PM/staff addressing variances and areas of improvement/achievement.
- High School diploma and 2 years relevant experience required
- 1-year leadership experience preferred
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experiences with surgical/appointment scheduling software and electronic medical records preferred
- Demonstrated customer service skills required
- Medical Terminology preferred
