GENERAL SUMMARY
The Network Security Engineer will provide administration, maintenance, and security of our network infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of network protocols, security practices, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues efficiently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include :
- Collaborate with product owners, engineers, and customers to define requirements.
- Design, implement, and manage the University's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance and ensure the reliability and availability of network resources.
- Conduct regular network security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate potential threats.
- Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with SOX and HIPAA regulations.
- Respond to and resolve network security incidents, including malware infections, unauthorized access, and data breaches.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate security measures into new and existing systems.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging network technologies and security trends.
- Provide technical support and training to staff on network security best practices.
