The Gengras Center, is actively seeking energetic, outgoing, and passionate individuals to become Paraprofessional / Teaching Assistants.
As a member of the Gengras Center team, the Paraprofessional / Teaching Assistant will provide a supportive / engaging learning environment and instructional assistance within the classroom for individuals as well as general supervision and management of the students.

Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to)
- Provide 1:1 hands-on support to students with special needs
- Assist teachers with instruction for academics, life skills and self-help skills
- Attend all classes and related services with students to provide support in all areas including the community
- Engage children in learning activities and implementing behavior plans, communication plans, and functional programs
- Support all staff by collecting and recording data on student progress
Requirements:
- Two years of University credits in a related field preferred. Extensive related experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Prior experience with children in a school setting; special education preferred, but not required.
- Ability to follow teacher direction and written plans, and work effectively in a team setting to meet individual student needs.
- Appropriate organizational and oral / written communication skills.
- Willingness to work with necessary office or classroom equipment / technology.
- Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Additional Information:
Pay Rates: The anticipated starting rates for this position are as follows based on the highest degree achieved:
- High School Diploma: $18.50/hour
- 2 years/Associate Degree: $20.25/hr
- Bachelor's Degree: $20.75/hr
- Master's Degree: $21.25/hr
