JOB TITLE: Community Service Reading Tutor
To benefit our nation and engender in the students a sense of social responsibility and commitment to the community the FWS Program encourages students receiving FWS assistance to participate in community service activities. This position meets the Federal Financial Aid definition of community service.
DEPARTMENT: Social & Behavioral Sciences
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Department specific duties and responsibilities):
- To provide tutoring services to a child or children (kindergarten through eighth grade) which can include prepping materials, reading, and assisting the children with homework related to reading or language arts.
- Facilitate book study groups.

Must be enrolled as a student at the University of Saint Mary, required

Must be eligible to participate in the Federal Work Study program, required
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Must have the ability to positively interact with a variety of people
- Ability to navigate time card
- Responsible for prompt and consistent work
- Successfully pass a background check.
