POSITION SUMMARY:
The Graduate Assistant in the Business Office will assist in every aspect of the department. This includes, but is not limited to: general ledger accounting and reconciliation, assisting Controller in documenting standard operating procedures for selected areas, and provide assistance to all other business office positions as needed.
This person needs to be detailed oriented. This person must also possess the ability or the willingness to be trained to run reports and queries. Strong computer skills and experience with Excel is important.
This person should have the capability to think through processes and provide recommendations for process improvement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Analyze and reconcile General Ledger accounts.
- Daily reconciliation of cash, credit card and ACH receipts for both Gift and Receipt Batches.
- Post daily transactions in Jenzabar EX after verifying transaction has reconciled.
- Track reconciling items on Daily reconciliation report.
- Analysis MICROS reports and department charges for the Dining Hall and Spirit Shop.
- Create Journal Entry and enter into Jenzabar EX.
- Assisted with reconciliation of W-2 information.
- Supports various business office functions during peak periods.
- Support business office during annual audit.
- Assist in documenting standard operating procedures.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
