POSITION SUMMARY:
The Public Safety Graduate Assistant (GA) position is responsible for encouraging a positive environment for all community members, providing coverage, and supporting essential functions of the Public Safety Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serves as a role model to students and student staff
- Assist with Public Safety Department projects and programming
- Provide administrative support to Public Safety Department
- Provide Aid and support to community and staff members
- Collaborates with various university personnel and offices
- Participates, as appropriate, in college-wide committees
- Performs additional job-related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree and enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Saint Mary
- Prior experience organizing co-curricular activities and crisis intervention is preferred
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills;
- Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Must be self-starter – able to work with minimal direction/supervision and should possess and demonstrate initiative
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must be able to pass required background screening
- Affinity with the overall mission of the University of Saint Mary.
