Position Summary
The Nursing Skills and SIM Lab Assistant has the primary responsibility of providing nursing skills practice for students and supporting the Simulation Coordinators. This position requires collaboration with the SIM Coordinators and Nursing Faculty.
This is a part-time hourly staff position. The direct supervisor for this position is the Division Chair of Nursing.

Essential Functions
- Assist faculty in implementing skills laboratory curriculum. This includes the use of patient care equipment, supplies, and computer-based tools and programs.
- Provide hours for students to attend Open Skills Lab and SIM Skills Lab to practice nursing skills.
- Assist with setup of all skills labs and SIM sessions.
- Coordinate with SIM staff to assist in routine maintenance of lab equipment.
- Assist with simulation activities in the Nursing Simulation Lab with low and high-fidelity mannequins.
- Assist with inventory and ordering of supplies.
- Re-stock the SIM rooms with supplies, including re-packaging supplies that are reusable.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Holds current RN license to practice in Kansas.
- At least 1 year of full-time bedside clinical experience
- Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team in a professional and confidential manner
