The University of San Diego School of Law invites applications from entry-level and lateral candidates for a full-time, tenured, and / or tenure-track position beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. We seek applications from candidates with scholarly or practice distinction or promise and a commitment to excellence in teaching.
Established in 1971, the USD School of Law clinical legal education program is comprised of twelve direct client services legal clinics (Appellate Clinic, Civil Clinic, Education & Disability Clinic, Entrepreneurship Clinic, Federal Tax Clinic, Housing Rights Clinic, Immigration Clinic, State Income Tax—California Clinic, State Sales & Use—California Clinic, Veterans Clinic, Women’s Clinic, and Workers’ Rights Clinic). The Legal Clinics bridge the gap between theoretical education and practical legal skills. The Legal Clinics strive to provide outstanding clinical training to law students and exceptional legal services for low-income individuals most in need in the San Diego community.
Applicants should have substantial legal practice experience and strong experience or interest in supervising law students and / or junior attorneys. This position will require the successful candidate to teach, practice law, and engage in clinical legal scholarship.

Job Requirements :
Applicants must have a JD degree. Membership in the California bar or be willing to sit for the California bar within one year of appointment preferred. Preferred candidates would have at least three years of legal practice experience. We welcome candidates with teaching and research interests in all areas of law, and we have a particular interest in applicants with an interest in directing / co-directing a transactional law, intellectual property, civil litigation (including civil rights, consumer protection, etc.) or immigration law clinic.
