Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Database Coordinator, the Junior Data Analyst plays a central role in helping to provide insights, reports and dashboards to help drive the extraordinary growth in donor philanthropy at USF. The Junior Data Analyst will work with the Database Coordinator and Report Admins team to conceptualize and develop interactive reporting and data visualization tools, prepare, develop and analyze data sets, and lead trainings for users on how to access self-service reports. The Junior Data Analyst will ensure accurate and timely delivery of key metrics and provide insights to the Development team(s) involved.

Full Job Description:
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support key weekly and monthly metrics and insights reporting and distribution (e.g. Running essential report/dashboard data source refreshes and procedure processes).
- Independently manage and oversee the maintenance and development of primary dashboards and reports (e.g. Apply functional changes and enhancements to existing reports/dashboards), making day to day business and analytics decisions and bringing complex problems to the attention of your supervisor for resolution.
- Maintain documentation related to key metrics, reports, and dashboards.
- Under the supervision of the Database Coordinator, provide day to day implementation support to gather requirements and collaborate with necessary business units and stakeholders to develop new reporting and insights as needs arise (e.g. work with various teams to diagnose complex problems and develop compelling, data-driven recommendations).
- Produce and troubleshoot ad hoc analysis/reports as requested from stakeholders and assigned by your supervisor.
- Present insights to the division on a regular basis and incorporate any feedback into reports and/or processes (e.g. present data analysis frequently to stakeholders, and need to build relationships and narratives using data).
- Adhere to statistical policies so that alumni and donor attributes are defined and cohesive throughout the University.
- Assist in testing and debugging Operational Data Store upgrades and patches.
- Work with IT teams to validate, enhance or revise integrations developed for automation of gift transactions
- Contribute to the ongoing success and user adoption of our database, including sharing ideas for enhancements, integrations, and participating in testing upgrades.
- Train end users on the use of reports and dashboards, and how to access self-service reports.

Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, math, economics, engineering or a related technical or quantitative field.
- Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities needed for position:
- Minimum of 1 years of experience with business intelligence tools, such as Tableau desirable.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience and knowledge in SQL desirable.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in maintaining databases, producing statistics, and technical support.
- Experience using data to solve complex, ambiguous, high-impact, cross-functional problems.
- Advanced Excel and other Microsoft office tools knowledge.
- Coding experience in at least one scripting language (R, Python).
Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to summarize and present data in a meaningful way that is accessible to members of Development and other University constituents.
- Ability to define business needs, and identify trends, patterns, gaps and insights using descriptive analytics and data visualizations to create business insights to various teams.
- Understanding of data management and data warehousing concepts preferred.
- Demonstrated broad communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to deal with highly confidential and sensitive material in a professional manner.
- Ability to work both independently and in close conjunction with others.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal input from superiors.
- Capacity and willingness to learn quickly and independently.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, the University's Vision, Mission, and Values.
- Great attention to detail; experience delivering exceptional quality in reports and data analysis
