The Recreation Manager supervises approximately 60 student staff positions within the department including utility staff, social media ambassadors, special event staff and trip leaders. The mission of Student Life is to fully support holistic student development within a social justice framework centered in preparing students to be caring, socially responsible citizens in our global and local community.Full Job Description : Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise Utility Staff Recruit, hire, onboard, train, manage, evaluate and perform payroll for student staff utility positions.Work with other professional staff members in the RSD to develop in-house job training for staff positions.Provide on-site supervision and support to utility positions.Work with the Director and Operations Manager to develop departmental staff training, including incentives / rewards program.Provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback to staff.Manage Outdoor Adventures and Welcome Weekends Trips Recruit, hire, train, manage, evaluate and perform payroll for student trip leaders.Develop, coordinate, and manage trips from conception to implementation.Manage event logistics including registration tools and event finances.Coordinate event day details such as transportation services and ticket purchases.Develop working relationships with campus partners to market programs.Design and distribute promotional materials.Manage Social Media Research and coordinate all social media strategies for RSD.Create content for social media and marketing.Coordinate Staffing for RSD Special Events Act as the liaison between RSD staff and event stakeholders.Establish standardized event procedures and train staff.Maintain the tracking and reporting of event metrics.Coordinate event staffing and setup for all special events.Other Responsibilities Serve as the primary point person for responding to inquiries about student staff positions.Serve on committees as assigned by the Director.Participate in department / division activities.Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.Evening and weekend hours required.Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required.
