The position is a general mechanic that reports to the Dorm Maintenance Supervisor and performs minor electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry work for buildings on and off campus as assigned. Position also entails grounds keeping which includes landscaping and snow removal work as well as custodial work as needed.

Essential Duties
- Perform minor repairs and/or replacement of plumbing fixtures, valves and other devices as required
- Perform minor repairs and/or replacements of electrical fixtures devices and appliances as required
- Perform minor carpentry work as required to repair windows, doors, hardware, screens and furniture
- Perform as required and/or direct snow plowing and ice removal, salting and clearing of areas of all snow
- Grounds work to include shrubbery care, landscaping, cutting of grass and grooming of athletic fields and complex and all University areas
- Custodial work including cleaning of all university area
- Setup and move furniture in student rooms, lounges and other support spaces in the University
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to support the University’s commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture
- Must be able to respect, support and contribute to the University’s Catholic and Jesuit mission
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education Minimum Job Experience Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in care and maintenance of similar facilities
