Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Directs the daily activities of a research project.
- Assists in the design of experimental protocols.
- Oversees and performs field and lab work to include field work on bay surveys, running nutrient and carbon analyses in the lab, and maintaining quality assurance.
- Independently conducts complex experiments.
- Analyzes and interprets data.
- Prepares manuscripts for publication.
- Manages laboratory budget.
- Assists in the preparation of grant applications and progress reports.
- Supervises and trains lower level laboratory personnel and students.
- Ensures safety in the handling and disposal of biohazardous, radioactive, and/or highly toxic substances.
- Orders equipment and supplies.
- Presents findings at local and national meetings.
- Utilizes various laboratory equipment.
- Prepares reports of research findings.
- Maintains relationships with the research project’s partners and stakeholders.
- Coordinates and plans project meetings.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
- Related duties as required.
