We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Professor of Science Education to join our university’s Teacher Education Program. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in experiential, inquiry-based, and hands-on science education. The position involves teaching, research, and mentoring future educators, with a focus on fostering critical thinking and scientific inquiry in the classroom. Candidates should be committed to innovative, student-centered teaching methods and have a strong background in preparing teachers to engage students in meaningful, practical science learning. A proven ability to integrate theory with real-world practice is essential.
Required Education And Experience
Ph.D. in Science Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field. Earned Ph.D. by August 16, 2025.
5 years public school teaching experience as a Life Science educator
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in and with the Beaufort County School District of South Carolina.
