Facility Coordinator

The facility coordinator contributes to the success of the Russell House University Union by overseeing facility operations for indoor and outdoor spaces. This includes coordinating facility and custodial needs, supervising student employees, providing event support, managing information services, managing inventory, and overseeing building safety and security. This position enhances the quality of the student experienceand provides exceptional service to the USC community through daily interactions and strategic expectations and goals. This position requires a variable schedule including nights and weekends and a valid driver’s license.

Primary Duties Include

  • Management of the facility and grounds during designated shifts (open, close or mid-day) by providing oversight of day-to-day operations ensuring safety, cleanliness and continued operability.
  • Oversee inventory management systems and maintenance needs for in-house equipment and transportation
  • Provide supervision for part-time student employees of the Russell House Information Center to include recruitment, training, and development
  • Serve as an emergency response lead during designated shifts.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials

A valid driver’s license is also required to obtain authorization to drive state-owned vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications

May graduates will be considered if they will be able to obtain their degree by the date of employment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Experience in facility management including custodial and maintenance, space utilization and scheduling, program planning and management, event production, and budget management

Job Duty

Building & Grounds Maintenance: Responsible for the continuous care of the University’s facilities and grounds, ensuring safety, cleanliness and continued operability. Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of facility maintenance and improvement projects

Support the development of students’ academic and personal goals. Provide opportunities for student engagement within the USC community through all phases of student leadership and/or employment.

Event Management: Responsible for planning, managing, and organizing functions and events. Obtain all necessary services and supplies. Secure appropriate facility space. Care for patrons from marketing through implementation. Distribute, compile and analyze assessment.

Audit, Compliance & Risk Management: Evaluate the institutions policies, processes and procedures to ensure alignment with institutional, state and federal policies, laws and regulations that govern financial, operational, and systems controls. Assess the institutions’ level of risk, identify vulnerabilities, and provide recommendations to strengthen and improve controls.
