Advertised Job Summary
As a team member within the SC APEX Accelerator, the Marketing and Communications Manager will help to implement the grant objectives by providing technical assistance to clients interested in becoming contractors with the federal government focused on storytelling, marketing, and product innovation. Based in Columbia, this position will partner with Procurement Counselors and Admin Manager in assisting with client management and support. Additionally, this position will work with the APEX Program Manager to coordinate marketing and communications on behalf of the program. This is a grant funded position subject to ongoing yearly grant renewal. The Marketing and Communications Manager will be part of a small but important office essential to the economic growth of South Carolina companies. This position requires a marketing and communications background and experience working with small and large businesses.
Job Related Minimum Required Education And Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of journalistic principles and practices and techniques of disseminating information to the public through news media. Knowledge of the methods and techniques used in planning, composing, editing, and producing publications. Knowledge of principles and methods of planning, conducting, and supervising large-scale public relations programs. Knowledge of business management practices and procedures. Knowledge of agency programs, policies, and procedures. Ability to gather, organize and present oral and written information in a clear, concise, and accurate manner. Strong writing skills for creating compelling content and editing materials for clarity and impact. Ability to develop long-term marketing plans that align with business goals. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the news media, team members, and the general public. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
