The College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management (HRSM) Program Manager for Organizational Development and Innovation (ODI) will work with the Vice Dean for ODI to facilitate training and development efforts for the faculty and staff in the College of HRSM, and will execute high level events to fulfill the goals for the area. The Program Manager helps to create a dynamic and inclusive college culture in which all students, faculty, and staff feel a sense of belonging and develop a positive association with the College of HRSM. This manager’s work will support the Dean’s strategic initiatives to include Organizational Development, Opportunity & Engagement, Innovation, Special Projects, and Stakeholder Engagement. This individual should be able to work independently with limited supervision. Occasional travel will be required to facilitate events and other aspects of the position. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Job Related Minimum Required Education And Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications

A master’s degree that is related to the position, and 3 or more years of relevant experience.

Organizational Development and Innovation Event Planning
- Plan and execute events, including but not limited to innovation tours in global markets, stakeholder meetings, and events for students. Work closely with the Vice Dean for Organizational Development and Innovation to align unit events with the college’s strategic goals.
- Manage the logistics and plan college-wide events to include but not limited to the Experience Expo, Career Tracks Symposium, and assist with other college-wide events and conferences as needed.
Cross-College Collaboration
- Work closely with various HRSM departments/schools to ensure seamless execution of responsibilities. This involves constant communication and collaboration to align with college- and department- and school-specific goals and requirements. Support departmental/school initiatives such as retail week, hospitality, and tourism week, etc. Serve on the Engaged Learning Working Group, AI Working Group, Innovation Fund Application Review Committee, Opportunity & Engagement Committee, and other committees as assigned.
- Assist in program facilitation and project execution of the College of HRSM strategic plan in collaboration with the college committees and working groups.
- Collaborate with the HRSM areas and units to activate and effectively promote the college-wide events.
Training and Content Development
- Create quarterly emerging technologies newsletter.
- Participate and assist in facilitating emerging technologies and other organizational development training(s) and programs.
Program Administration
- Assist in the administration of the Dean’s Innovation Fund.
- Serve on the Innovation Fund application review committee.
- Serve on the Innovation Study Tour application review committee.
Supervision of Student(s)
- Supervise and mentor graduate and undergraduate student assistant(s) who support the ODI area. Provide direction, feedback, and support to facilitate their professional growth and ensure the successful completion of assigned projects.
Special Projects and Other Duties as assigned.
