Assistant Professor Computer Science – Cybersecurity
The Department of Computer Science, Engineering, and Mathematics at the University of South Carolina Aiken (USCA) invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Computer Science, specializing in Cybersecurity. We seek candidates with a particular emphasis on Operational Technology (OT) Security and Cyber Operations and/or Cloud Computing and Cloud Security. This appointment will begin on August 16, 2025, and is an exciting opportunity to join fast growing department.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or Doctorate in Computer Science or a closely related field from an accredited program by August 16, 2025; however, ABD candidates will also be considered. The ideal candidate will demonstrate both the qualifications and enthusiasm to teach key courses in Computer Science and Cybersecurity and possess expertise to teach two or more of the following areas: OT/ICS/SCADA Security, Cyber Operations, Cloud Computing and Cloud Security, Cryptography and Blockchain. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active research agenda with a strong commitment to involving undergraduate students in research projects. Opportunities for collaboration are available with regional institutions, including the South Carolina National Guard, the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence, the U.S. Army Cyber Command at Fort Eisenhower, and the Savannah River National Laboratory. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
Our department offers a B.S. in Computer Science with concentrations in Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Gaming & Simulation, a B.S. in Software Engineering, and a Master’s in Computer and Information Sciences with concentrations in Information Technology and Cybersecurity. As a designated NSA Center of Excellence in Cyber Defense, we maintain a strong focus on cybersecurity across all programs.
