The Clery Act Compliance Coordinator works collaboratively with various offices at the University to ensure the institution’s compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and associated regulations.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience complying with the requirements of the Clery Act. Completion of advanced Clery Act training.

Knowledge of position requirements and applicable regulations, laws, and requirements. Skill in effective use of technology and systems. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Policy Development and Communication:
- Assist in the development, implementation, and regular review of university policies and procedures to ensure Clery Act Compliance.
- Ensure that the university policies and procedures are up-to-date and effectively communicated to the campus community, including assisting in preparing and publishing the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report.

Crime Data Management and Reporting:
- Gather crime and disciplinary referral data from various internal and external sources, including the Office of Student and Alumni Affairs and law enforcement agencies.
- Maintain and update the daily crime log, making it available to the public during business hours, and coordinate with Real Estate and Facilities to keep an accurate listing of university properties.
- Works with the Division’s Records Division to ensure proper classification of crime incident reports for Clery compliance and assigns to proper Clery crime category on a regular basis.

Training and Coordination of Campus Security Authorities (CSA’s):
- Identify, train, and maintain a current list of all Campus Security Authorities (CSA’s) for the institution, ensuring they understand their reporting obligations.
- Send annual requests for crime statistics to CSAs and external law enforcement agencies and provide ongoing communication regarding reporting procedures and compliance requirements.

- Act as a liaison between the University Police Department and various campus departments, such as Housing, Student Affairs and Academic Support, and other applicable divisions/departments, to ensure comprehensive Clery Act compliance.
- Participate in campus safety committees and workgroups to foster a collaborative approach to campus safety and compliance initiatives.
