Advertised Job Summary
The Human Resources Administrative Assistant will perform a variety of personnel-related administrative and clerical tasks by providing administrative support to the Director of Human Resources and for the Human Resources Department in the College of Arts and Sciences. Duties may include generating offer and reappointment letters, making photocopies of various documents, filing, conducting research to process, complete, and submit various HR actions, creating, updating, and maintaining various spreadsheets, etc. Will assist the HR Team in reviewing various human resources actions, including but not limited to, creating, updating, and/or reviewing position descriptions, reviewing and approving job requisitions, processing new hire documents, processing and submitting other HR actions to the appropriate University Offices and initiating various HCM personnel actions. Performs other administrative and clerical tasks as assigned by the Dean for the College.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Typically holds a high school diploma or GED. Requires 2 or more years of job related experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer technical school training and degree in Administrative Office Technology/Secretarial Science/Office Systems Technology or equivalent program; Preference will be given to those with 3 years or more of related experience as an administrative assistant, secretary, or office manager.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Must know and have worked with Microsoft Word and Excel. Above-average verbal and written communication skills. Thorough knowledge of modern office procedures, practices, and equipment. Knowledge of University specific policies and procedures.

Will assist with the human resources operations of the College of Arts and Sciences, by providing administrative and clerical support to the Director of Human Resources in the College; includes assistance, oversight, and management of various human resources actions for faculty and staff. Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties. Duties may include, bulk mailings, mail merges, attending meetings and taking detailed notes, scanning and emailing documents, photocopying documents, reviewing HR actions and forms, researching issues and resolving accordingly, and working with the Units and/or HR Colleagues to ensure they are following University and State Policies and Procedures.
