Budgeting and Financial Services Expert
The University of South Dakota is seeking a Budgeting and Financial Services Expert to partner with university departments and provide strategic decision-making support. This role will collaborate with the AVP and Director of Budget to forecast and manage financials across multiple departments, serving as the primary point of contact for financial forecasting and analysis within Financial Affairs.
This position oversees the development and execution of budget requests and operating budget processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and a clear understanding of budget and fund sources across departments. The role also directs the preparation of financial statements for complex business entities within the University of South Dakota, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
The Budgeting and Financial Services Expert actively contributes to central budget office functions, including year-end processes, salary policy analysis, and related tasks. Additionally, this role holds responsibility for reviewing and approving departmental budget and financial information before final approval by the Director of Budget and Finance.
Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field. Experience with higher education institutions' budgeting processes is preferred, along with knowledge of fund accounting.
