What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admission Liaison - Acute Rehab Unit, Full Time 8 Hours Day position at University of Southern California?
The Admissions Liaison is responsible for collecting and inputting information gathered via detailed patient chart review, communication with patient, communication with patient family and communication with medical team in order to present the data to the Medical admissions team, in order to determine the appropriateness of admission to the acute rehab unit and whether the patient meets acute rehab unit admissions criteria. The Admission liaison is responsible for completing the pre-admissions screen forms, electronically forwarding to the physician, verifying benefits, getting insurance authorization when needed, and insuring CMS compliance throughout the acute rehab admission process This position must collaborate and interact in a positive manner with PPS coordinator, case managers, physicians, discharge planners and other potential referral sources. They are responsible to build and maintain positive relationships with referral sources and families with the goal of increasing the number of ARU referral sources, ARU referrals, and ultimately the ARU census. The Liaison will work with the program director to develop and implement a marketing plan.
Minimum Education: High School or equivalent Master's degree Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related field required if Occupational Therapist, or Physical Therapist, or Registered Nurse (If RN must have BSN) OR Master's degree OR Master's Degree in a healthcare related field required if Speech Pathologist or Social Worker (LCSW) Minimum Experience: 2 years Must have minimum of 2 years' experience in inpatient acute rehabilitation Required Certifications: Certification - Job Relevant Must have a clinical license in one of the following fields: - If Registered Nurse (RN): Valid California Registered Nursing license required - If Occupational Therapist (OT): Valid California Occupational Therapy license required - If Physical Therapist (PT): Valid California Physical Therapist License required. - If Speech/Language Pathologist: Valid California License/ Certification in Clinical Competence - If Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW): Valid California LCSW Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only) Preferred Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
