Provides manager training on current policies, policy changes and best practices. Provides leadership and legal expertise in collective bargaining agreement negotiations and legal interpretation.
Essential Job Functions And Core Responsibilities
- Consults and assists hospital leaders with workplace employee and labor relations matters.
- Conducts workplace investigations and makes recommendations for resolution.
- Assist with day-to-day CBA administration.
- Administers corrective actions including performance improvement plans, progressive discipline.
- Establishes positive employee relations and best places to work culture.
- Monitors workplace compliance with workplace policies, CBAs, and local, state, and federal employment and labor laws.
- Coordinates and participates in union negotiations and arbitration.
- Conduct workplace investigations of employee complaints (EEO, ADA, FMLA, etc.).
- Develop, administer and revise complex workplace policies. Ensures that the policies are fair and in regulatory compliance.
- Participates and coordinates involuntary termination process.
- Advises management on employee and labor relations issues and conducts management training.
- Represent MHSC in grievance and arbitration proceedings.
- Provide responses to government agencies.
- Other job duties as assigned.
- Minimum three to five years relevant Human Resources experience in a tactical role including recruitment, benefits, employee/labor relations.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Must have previous experience in a union environment including collective bargaining agreement administration.
- Previous experience in compliance audits required.
- Computer and data management skills.
