Reporting to the Aerospace and Defense Program Manager, Position is primarily responsible for maintaining and managing the current Skill Bridge internship program at UTSI. Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the oversight and maintenance of relationship with the Dept of Defense allowing the UT Space Institute to be a member of the DoD SkillBridge program (internship program for military service members).
- Development of training plans for individual interns based on the position and hiring manager requirements.
- Schedule and administer meetings and interviews between military members and hiring managers.
- Maintain professional and trusted relationships with DOD program managers from each military branch to ensure application acceptance.
- Plan and execute program expansion to other campuses.
- Coordinate with senior program manager, Office of Research and business managers to maintain charts/spreadsheet compilation for faculty investigators and project sponsors.
- Work with assigned faculty investigators and Research Engineering Operations in compiling spend plans, resources, and other documents (Gantt charts, deliverables dashboard, WBS, SOWs, etc.) needed by project sponsors.
- Develop custom dashboards for various groups that are tailored to group function.
- Facilitate meetings with the faculty and sponsors for project meetings. Integrate input from project researchers to develop reports and presentations for delivery to sponsors.
- Represent research groups in a variety of internal and external meetings and work with faculty and staff to help grow sponsored research portfolios, including contributing to the program management of proposals to obtaining funding.
- Manage and maintain group SkillBridge SharePoint (SP) site.
- Organize and maintain the document filing of project data.
- Create SOPs/WIs as needed to support project workflows and software.
- Provide occasional support for business development and recruiting efforts related to the Research Engineering and Operations group.
- Represent the UTSI Aerospace & Defense efforts at various functions within the local community.
- At least three years experience to Department of Defense maturation and/or military leadership/management, with demonstrable experience in project management.
- Must be able to work in an environment conforming to ITAR requirements.
- Must be able to achieve and maintain a DOD security clearance.
- Strong ability to manage and monitor project requirements and progress across a portfolio of many projects.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate technical information to a variety of audiences from active researchers to laypersons, in both written reports and oral presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as a team member in close coordination with others.
- Adept at the use of standard office productivity tools, including spreadsheets, word processing and presentation development.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) field.
- Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field
- At least four years experience within an aerospace or defense related organization to include any branch of the military.
- Experience in project management related to technology maturation or research & development.
- Experience with the Skillbridge program as a manager or participant.
