The University of Tennessee, College of Social Work invites applications for one (1) 12-month, non-tenure-track Assistant / AssociateClinical Professor positionin advanced macro practice. The salary range is $56,000-$65,000(assistant) / $68,000-$76,000 (associate) dependent upon qualifications. The position will be located at the College of Social Work Nashville Campus.

Theposition has primary responsibilities for face-to-face and online instruction in the MSSW program. The role requires effective communication of knowledge and information to students while promoting skill acquisition and development of critical thinking. Clinical professorsmust model ethical behavior and be able to objectively evaluate student performance and competencies. As a member of the College of Social Work faculty, the position contributes to various college and university committees and service.
This position is supervised by the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and works collaboratively with the academic program directors.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications for assistant clinical professor
MSW / MSSW from a CSWE-accredited social work program
Experience teaching, training, or mentoring students
Expertise in advanced macropractice
Two years post-master’s social work practice experience by May 2025
Strong identification with the mission and core values of social work
Evidence of commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive climate in classroom or practice settings, in alignment with accreditation standards
Preferred qualifications for assistant clinical professor :
Graduate teaching experience
Teaching experience in both face-to-face and online formats
Five years post-master’s practice experience
A doctoral degree in Social Work or closely related field
Minimum qualifications for associate clinical professor, include those for assistant professor plus :
Doctoral or terminal degree in Social Work or a closely related field.
Current licensure or certification to practice social work (if applicable).
At least 5 years of teaching experience in a CSWE-accredited MSW / BSW / DSW program.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching, as evidenced by end-of-semester evaluations and peer reviews.
Experience in course creation and curriculum development.
Preferred qualifications for associate clinical professor :
Teaching experience in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats
Five years post-master’s practice experience
A doctoral degree in Social Work or closely related field
Participation in teaching-focused continuing education.
Involvement in professional organizations related to social work education.
