Duties :
Participate in the ongoing development, implementation, evaluation, and enhancement of nursing academic programs :
- Teach undergraduate nursing courses as assigned
- Supervise and provide written evaluation of nursing students as assigned
- Collaborate with clinical agencies in arranging student clinical experiences (. orientation to objectives of clinical experience, course syllabus, clinical schedule, et al) as appropriate.
- Ensure courses reflect program outcomes, AACN essentials, state board of nursing minimum standards, current evidence and best practice
- Participate in program and course revisions
- Participate in the evaluation and ongoing enhancement of the curricula
- Apply evidence from best education practices to teaching
Contribute to the mission and strategic priorities of the College of Nursing and the University of Tennessee Knoxville
Required Qualifications :
Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) with at least 3 years of nursing practice experience.
Licensure as a registered nurse in Tennessee prior to employment
Evidence of successful clinical and / or classroom teaching experience
Effective interpersonal skills and cultural competence
Ability to work with a diverse group of students and colleagues
Desirable Qualifications :
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (PhD)
Eligibility for RN / APRN license in Tennessee
Experience with instructional media and technology
