Job Summary
The Program Director of Digital Strategy is responsible for developing and implementing strategic digital initiatives for UTA research. The role will work closely with Marketing, Messaging and Engagement Office (MME) to build an effective working coalition of cross functional teams to support the overall digital messaging strategy around UTA research.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the management and optimization of university-owned digital channels, including the website, social media, advertising, and email tools.
- Execute collaborations that drive system capabilities, audience engagement and actions, and brand awareness and reputation.
- Collaborate with cross campus content creators, designers, and developers to create engaging and impactful digital assets.
- Contribute to thought leadership on content development and digital media.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive digital strategy aligned with the university’s goals and objectives.
- Analyze key target audiences and their digital behavior to create tailored, measurable engagement plans.
- Serve as an expert for digital strategy, internal processes, and systems relevant to digital marketing.
- Ensure consistent branding, messaging, and user experience across all digital channels.
- Utilize analytics tools to monitor and report digital content performance.
- Advise on data interpretation, key findings, best practices, and action planning to stakeholders.
- Works to stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in content strategy and digital marketing.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in content strategy, digital content marketing, or a similar role.
- Must have experience with multiple social media platforms and analytics tool to analyze and build reports for content performance (e.g., CMS, Google Analytics, Meltwater, Sprout Social).
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen attention to detail and basic understanding of SEO principles and content optimization techniques are also required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree.
- Experience working in a higher education or academic setting; research, health, or science environment or government organization.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- An ability to understand the University of Texas at Arlington’s brand, institutional goals and segmented audience profiles.
- Excellent oral, written and editing skills –with ability to shape and improve content for multiple target audiences and repackage materials for multiple uses.
- High standards of integrity, ethics, and performance.
- Ability to effectively manage tasks, people, and expectations.
- Self-motivated with a proactive, results-driven approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Multi-media skills, such as online publishing, online photo presentation, etc.
- Knowledge of communication strategies, tools, techniques, and technologies.
