PurposeTo work in collaboration with the Executive Director of Annual Giving Programs on strategically planning and executing multi-channel direct marketing fundraising as well as managing relationships with and fundraising support for campus college, school and unit partners at The University of Texas at Austin.
ResponsibilitiesOversee the execution of multi-channel fundraising direct marketing efforts and assist in the annual planning and strategy development:
Analyze past direct marketing results and execute a direct marketing plan for 16 college, school, and unit (CSU) partners.
Maintain comprehensive solicitation calendar for all direct marketing channels and ensure that all projects are executed in a timely and effective manner.
Write and proofread copy for direct marketing projects and ensure that the copy is in line with university messaging and annual giving best practices.
Manage and mentor a team of two CSU Success Managers including monitoring the progress of specific projects and assessing the needs of the position through weekly check-ins, preparing performance reviews, and posting and rehiring position when needed.
Work closely with internal Project Operations team to strategically direct artwork and data to support fundraising campaigns.
Work closely with the University Marketing and Communications team to ensure that Annual Giving Program projects meet university branding and messaging standards.
Regularly report back on campaign performance and utilize past campaign performance to inform future strategy.
Manage and build relationships with CSU (college, school and unit) partners to enhance annual giving fundraising across campus:
Lead team that acts as a primary contact for each of our CSU partners, providing a streamlined, on-stop contact for all services provided by the wider Annual Giving Programs team.
Maintain regular meetings and communications with annual giving contacts embedded within CSUs.
Identify and enhance unique fundraising opportunities for CSU specific audiences and priorities.
Provide service ranging from consultation and strategy up to full execution of annual giving campaign work for CSU specific fundraising work.
Bachelor's degree and at least three years of professional experience in annual giving or direct marketing at a nonprofit or in a higher education advancement/development environment.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), organizational skillsand attention to detail.
The proven ability to write for a variety of audiences.
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The ability to prioritize, manage and organize multiple projects amid shifting priorities.
Experience executing multi-channel direct marketing fundraising including phone, email, direct mail, digital advertising and/or texting.
Experience with large-scale direct mail print production and knowledge of mass mail postal strategies.
Direct response copywriting experience highly preferred.
$74,000 depending on qualifications
Working ConditionsTypical office environment with some on-site field work.
This is an on-site/on-campus position based in Austin, Texas.
Some evening and weekend hours may be required during peak periods and special events.
