General Notes
This position requires an on-site presence daily and is not eligible for flexible work arrangements. May occasionally be requested to work additional hours or weekends as needed to complete time-sensitive projects or facilitate events and programs.
Purpose
The Facilities Operations Associate reports to the Building Manager in the College of Pharmacy to provide administrative, maintenance, and facilities support in the college.
Responsibilities
Assist the Building Manager with all aspects of college facilities management. Ensure daily operation of the PHR shipping/receiving area (PHR 2.112), including receipt, sorting, and delivery of daily mail and all packages. Collaborate with delivery contacts and Central Receiving as neccessary.
Provide administrative support and service to all college constituents. Maintain organization of receiving area and supplies, establishing procedures for efficient use and access. Assist with hiring and scheduling student workers to support the receiving area, ensuring adequate coverage.
Work in close partnership with the Collee of Pharmacy's Business Office to ensure adherence to business procedures and completion of the purchasing cycle, provide reports, and complete other deliverable relative to shipping/receiving and inventory, including equipment tagging, controlled items, and compressed gases. Oversee the maintenance of the college's vehicles and the weekly vehicle use logs.
Assist with movement of surplus items and furniture as needed.
Provide support for college-wide events, including running errands or deliveries.
Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and at least 5 years of clerical experience; or a bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of clerical experience.
Working ability to make decisions, communicate effectively, take initiative, solve problems, provide excellent service, and execute tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of campus mail, central receiving, and equipment inventory processes at UT Austin.
Experience with basic maintenance of vehicles, compressed gas, and other commonly used teaching and research equipment.
Ability to move furniture in a safe and timely manner.
Driving Required
This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
Salary Range
$40,000 depending on qualifications
