What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Processor position at University of Texas at Austin?
Provide customer service to borrowers by answering phone calls, responding to Loans emails, assisting borrowers at the front counter. Document borrower correspondence in university mainframe system (DEFINE).Verify and process deferment, forbearance, and loan cancellation forms. Adhere to strict deadlines.Prepare written correspondence such as past-due loan emails, manual deferment / cancellation letters, and default resolution letters for Perkins borrowers. Pick up, sort, process, and distribute mail.Verify the collection agency placement reports sent to us by each agency to ensure that balances match the loan balances in DEFINE.Assist with Institutional Loan borrower questions and special projects.Create daily loan consolidation payment vouchers in university mainframe system (DEFINE).Transmit credit reporting data to national credit bureaus monthly. Upload Perkins Loan data to the National Student Loan Data System monthly.Process returned loan payments.Other duties as assigned.
