Job Summary
  • Manages overall operations of the School's advising team.
  • Manages a caseload of students in advising.
  • Manages School's event coordination such as new student orientations.
  • Serves as a primary contact point for the School's advising.
  • Manages the school's advising team and delegates duties.
  • Assists advisors in problem-solving complex student situations.
  • Consult and coordinate with other Advising Directors to streamline student services.
  • Assists in standardizing the School's advising practices to University standards.
  • Assists in ensuring FERPA standards and documentation of practices.
  • Serves on the School's leadership team as needed for marketing, recruitment, and planning.
  • Assists in ensuring the integrity of the School's degree plan, catalog, and graduation audit.
  • Serves as a point of contact to help coordinate leave and vacation coverage.
  • Attends weekly advising director meetings to ensure University-wide coordination.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in counseling or a related field and 8 years experience working with college students in an academic counseling or advising capacity; or Master's degree & six years' experience as described above.

  • Assists Associate Dean in managing over all operations of the school's advising team.
  • Manages a caseload of student advising.
  • Manages School's event coordination such as new student orientations.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact across the University for school advising.
  • Assists in managing the school advising team and delegating duties.
  • Assists advisors in problem-solving and with complex student situations.
  • Consult and coordinate with other advising directors to streamline student services.
  • Assists in standardizing the school's advising practices to comply with the University's standards.
  • Assists in ensuring accurate FERPA standards and documentation practices.
  • Serves on the school's leadership team as needed for marketing, recruitment, and planning.
  • Assists in ensuring the school's degree plan, catalog, and graduation audit integrity.
  • Serves as a contact and helps coordinate leave and vacation coverage.
  • Attends weekly advising director meetings to ensure University-wide coordination.
