The Assistant Director of Programming will oversee a variety of responsibilities for the department and work with student employees/leaders to implement all aspects of departmental programming. Responsibilities include, advising Roadrunner Productions (RP, programming board), advising Rowdy Crew (Spirit Advisory Board), traditional campus programming, budgeting, and daily administrative functions. Responsible for collaborating with small groups and committees to design, develop, plan, prepare, and implement quality programming and events at UTSA. Responsible for promoting and providing education on campus.

Responsible for collaborating with small groups and committees to design, develop, plan, prepare, and implement quality programming and events at UTSA. Responsible for promoting and providing education on campus.
Core Responsibilities
- Supervises one (1) professional staff member with the coordination of volunteer service initiatives and campus programming.
- Directly advise two sponsored student organizations: Roadrunner Productions, the campus programming board and Rowdy Crew, the spirit advisory board, with facilitating program production, budget management, student leadership development, risk-management, and coordination of campus programming and spirit and traditions programming.
- Supervise and train assigned staff, graduate assistants, and student employees/leaders focused on their professional development, coaching and productivity practices, and programming logistics.
- Facilitates, promotes, develops and coordinates large, campus-wide events be enhancing spirit, history, and tradition initiatives in collaboration with students, staff, faculty and external partners such as Howdy Rowdy Bash, BestFest, Dia en la Sombrilla and other assigned programs including assessment and impact on student belonging and retention.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase the quality and quantity of student programming.
- Coordinate events and programs specifically designed for the downtown campus.
- Promote and support student usage of RowdyLink and the experiential transcript.
- Serve as a member of the Expressive Activity Response Team addressing elevated demonstrations on campus. Assist with oversight of small-scale campus expressive activity.
- Interpret institutional and system policies related to student organizations to students attending the Downtown campus. Evaluate programs based on assessment and make recommendations to the Director of the Student Involvement Center.
- Serves as a liaison between Fiesta San Antonio Commission and UTSA.
- Support programs and events sponsored by the Student Involvement Center and support university-wide programs including, but not limited to, Roadrunner Days, Homecoming, and Commencement.
- Collaborate with other campus offices to promote student engagement including Student Union, Wellbeing, Housing and Residence Life, Career Services, as well as academic colleges and departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Higher Education, Student Personnel Administration, Education, or related field.
- Three (3) years of direct experience working with college students.
- Additional education up to a Master's degree may substitute for required experience up to two (2) years.
- One (1) year of supervision experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years student advising, and event planning in university setting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Anthology Engaged, and Adobe Photoshop.
- Demonstrated skills in the following areas: student advising, budgeting, program planning, project management, marketing, and effective collaboration with various constituencies.
- Demonstrated independent decision-making and risk management planning.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
