Essential Functions
Job Summary
Assists the Head Football Coach in promoting an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The Assistant Football Coach assists in providing leadership and supervision for team and individual sports.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist Head Coach in recruiting prospects as assigned by head football coach.
- Make in-person evaluations.
- Host on-campus recruiting visits as assigned.
- Make presentations to local and national groups promoting UTSA and UTSA football.
- Assist with on-field coaching, game preparations, scouting of opponents, and monitor student-athlete progress.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- Three years football experience as a collegiate player, collegiate coach, or high school coach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree.
- Three years of offensive or defensive coaching experience as either an offensive/defensive coordinator or offensive/defensive positions coach. Knowledge of NCAA, American Athletic Conference, and UTSA rules and regulations.
